Teaching Weiqi:
structure:
-start with introducing some quick background about the game (1 min)
-teach basic rules of the game (2 min)
-give simple examples (2 min)
-give puzzle pieces that group mates work together to solve (5min)
plan B:
-if time is not enough, consider shortening the example time or puzzle time.
-if more time is left, introduce more difficult puzzle pieces, or talk more about
assessment criteria:
-do learners understand the rules (basic)
-can learners understand the examples
-can learners solve simple puzzles (intermediate)
Hi Yikang, and thanks for this draft lesson plan! Some changes I would like to see you make before tomorrow's class:
ReplyDelete(1) How will you check on learners' prior knowledge? (They may already know the game, for example!) (2) Please give some idea about how the game works. The link just shows a game board for a puzzle, with no background. (3) Make sure to have a way to finish up and close the lesson. Learners should have a way to assess their own learning at the end. (4) You should include a list of materials you'll be using (physical/ online etc.)
Thanks, and I'll watch for revisions here (as EDITS) before tomorrow afternoon!
Hi Susan, sorry for the late reply, I did not review the post in time. Please see my new post for updated plan based on your review and class peer reviews.
